Rejoyn Vacuum Therapy System

Since the Rejoyn Vacuum Therapy System is available without
a prescription, should I see a doctor?
Absolutely! If you have symptoms of impotence (i.e., inability
to achieve an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse) consult
your doctor promptly to avoid a potentially harmful delay in
diagnosing any of the most common causes of impotence, such as
diabetes, multiple sclerosis, liver disease (cirrhosis), chronic
kidney failure, or chronic alcoholism. And since impotence is
successfully treated 95% of the time, it makes sense to seek
medical attention as soon as possible.
How long will it take me to achieve an erection?
When using the Rejoyn system you should be able to achieve
a rigid erection in 10 to 90 seconds. You may feel pressure when
your penis starts to become erect from the vacuum. This is normal.
How long can a constriction ring be worn?
Thirty (30) minutes is the recommended time period for wearing
the constriction ring. If worn longer, permanent damage is possible.
Is it necessary to wear a constriction ring?
You may find that you are able to keep an erection, suitable
for intercourse, without a constriction ring. You may find that
sometimes a constriction ring is not necessary, while at other
times it may be. You can determine when a constriction ring is
necessary based on how long you maintain an erection without
it.
Does one constriction ring size fit all?
Certainly not. There are 4 different sizes available. We recommend
you try each ring, starting with the largest ring and moving
to the next smaller ring, to determine which ring size works
best for you. A properly fitted ring will feel snug around the
base of the penis, and should allow you to maintain an erection
for up to 30 minutes. For best results, make sure the constriction
ring is at the base of the penis, as close to the pelvis as possible.
What if I lose an erection while using the constriction ring?
No problem. You may not have the constriction ring at the
base of the penis or you may need to try a smaller constriction
ring. First check to ensure the constriction ring is at the base
of the penis, as close to the pelvis as possible. If the constriction
ring is positioned correctly and loss of erection still occurs,
you may want to try the next smaller size ring.
Does the constriction ring affect ejaculation?
It may not. The pressure the constriction ring applies to
the penis may not hinder or block ejaculation. You may feel a
small level of additional pressure in the urethra when ejaculating.
In fact, the constriction ring may promote a longer lasting erection
and may delay ejaculation.
How do I remove the constriction ring?
To remove the constriction ring, using both hands, pull outward
on the ring tabs. If possible, slide your index fingers in between
the band and your penis. This will allow you to stretch the band
and create a larger opening. Then slide the constriction ring
off your penis. For best results, you may apply a small amount
of lubricant to the pubic hair.
What about latex sensitivity?
Rejoyn constriction rings are not made of latex. They are
made of medical-grade thermoplastic elastomer.
Can a condom be worn when using the constriction ring?
You can wear a condom. Apply the condom to your penis after
you have achieved an erection and placed the constriction ring
around the base of the penis. Don't apply the condom to the penis
before using the vacuum system or constriction rings because
they may cause damage to the condom.
Warnings and Precautions
Warning: Call your doctor if any
problems occur and stop using the device if they continue.
Warning: If you have signs of erectile dysfunction, )i.e., unable
to get an erection that is good enough for sexual intercourse),
talk to your doctor before using this device to avoid a possible
harmful delay in figuring out any of the most common causes of
this condition, such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis, cirrhosis
of the liver, chroic renal failure, or alcoholism.
The vacuum erection device will not cure relationship problems
or correct physical problems such as low sex drive, decreased
sensation, and absent or premature ejaculation. If you have Sickle
Cell Trait or Disease, a history of prolonged erections, or are
taking large quantities of aspirin or other blood thinners, do
no use the vacuum pump without consulting your doctor.
Vacuum Pumps
- The user should apply the least amount of vacuum pressure
that will get an erection.
- The user should stop using the vacuum pump if pain occurs.
- Vacuum pump should not be used while on alcohol or drugs.
- Use of a vacuum pump may bruise or break the blood vessels
either right below the surface of the skin or within the deep
structures of the penis or scrotym, resulting in bleeding and/or
the forming of a blood filled swelling. Do not be too concerned
if you notice some brusining of the penis, or small reddish spots
below the skin. This is likely to happen if you have not had
sex for some time. You should stop using the unit until the problem
has cleared up (5 or 6 days). When you do use the Rejoyn system
again, be careful not to apply more vacuum than feels comfortable.
Use caution and plenty of water soluable lubricant when removing the constriction
ring.
- Misuse of a vacuum pump may worsen already existing medical
conditions such as Peyronie's disease (a condition that causes
distortion or abnormal bend of the erect penis), prolonged erection,
and blocked urethra (urinary tract).
- Misuse of the vacuum pump could result in swelling of the
penis and/or serious permanent injury to the penis.
- Caution is advised when using a vacuum pump following the
removal of a penile implant becuase of possible scarring and
later impairment. Apply the vacuum gradually. Watch for bruising
or distortion of the penis. We suggest that you keep in close
contact with your doctor during early use of the device aftern
an implant removal.
Constriction Rings
- If worn longer than 30 minutes at a time, the constriction rings may cause permanent injury to the penis.
- Allow a minimum of 60 minutes between uses.
- Do not fall asleep wearing the constriction ring.
- Constriction rings should not be used as a birth control method.
- Use the largest ring that holds an erection.
- Do not use constriction rings while using alcohol or drugs.
- Frequent use of constriction rings may result in bruising at the base of the penis (where the shaft of the penis meets the pubic area).
Warning: Do not wear the constriction
ring longer than 30 minutes.

Impotence... a medical perspective
about its causes and treatment
What is impotence?
Impotence is the inability to get or maintain an erection
suitable to complete sexual intercourse. Almost every man experiences
impotence at one time or another. But an estimated 20 to 30-
million American men, roughly one in five, live with chronic
impotence brought about by a variety of physical or emotional
conditions.
The good news is that impotence isn't necessarily permanent.
In fact it's successfully treated 95 percent of the time. The
bad news is that few men with impotence ever pursue treatment.
Because impotence is a difficult topic to discuss, most men choose
silence insted of seeking a solution. For these reasons, impotence
has earned the distinction of being the most untreated treatable
medical condition.
The primary danger in neglecting medical treatment is that impotence
is often an indicator of a more serious condition, such as vascular
problems or diabetes. It makes good sense to seek medical attention.
We urge you to visit your physician as soon as possible. A secondary
but perhps more pognant danger in neglecting the condition is
that impotence can disrupt relationships. The loss of physical
intimacy and closeness can affect how a man and woman feel about
themselves and each other.
What causes impotence?
A lot of people believe impotence is "all in a man's
head." While it's true that things like stress, fatigue
and anxiety contribute to impotence, in fact less than 50 percent
of all cases are psychologically induced.
More often impotence is caused by a physical condition such as
vascular disease, diabetes, high blood pressure or hormonal imblances.
Tobacco, alcohol and side effects from many medications also
contribute to impotency.
Another misconception is that impotence is a natural part of
aging. It's not. The likelihood of impotence does increase with
age, but that's only because older men generally take more medication
or have other conditions that lead to impotence. Imotence itself
is not a direct consequence of aging.
Can impotence be cured?
Yes. Some cases are cured by addressing underlying causes,
but only under the guidance and specific direction of a physician.
Simply changing or eliminating certain medications may be the
answer. Adjusting hormone levels offers relief in some cases.
While in other cases, treatment for vascular problems or other
medical conditions may be required. If psychological issues are
suspected, counseling, either individually or with partner, may
help.
How is impotence treated?
When a cure is not possible, there are a number of alternatives
that allow men experiencing impotence to enjoy intercourse. These
vary in terms of availability, cost and convenience, as well
as personal preference.
Although many couples find one or more of these options satisfactory,
no single method is right for everyone. A physician can help
you decide which option best fits your lifestyle.
Vacuum Devices Vacuum devices
allow men to start and end an erection when desired. The technique
works by placing a vacuum over the penis and drawing blood into
the penis to create an erection. The blood is held there with
a constriction band at the base of the penis. Erections can be
maintained for up to a half hour.
Vacuum devices often require a prescription and physician-aided
instruction. They can be relatively expensive, usually costing
between $350 and $500.
Injection Therapy Drugs are injected
directly into the base of the penis to produce an erection that
lasts up to two hours. The drugs can be used two to three times
a week, but only once in any 24 hour period.
Over time injection therapy can cause scarring and permanent
tissue damage. The drugs can be expensive and typically require
mixing and refrigeration.
Urethral Suppository Therapy
A similar type of drug used in injection therapy now is available
as a pellet that can be inserted into the urethra. This option
eliminates the need for needles and alleviates some of the side
effects associated with injection therapy.
Penile Implants Implants allow
a man to achieve and maintain an erection as often and as long
as desired. With this option, a surgeon implants two semi-rigid
or inflatable cylinders in the penis, a pump into the scrotum
and a reservoir into either the scrotum or abdomen.
Sensation, ejaculation and orgasm usually are not affected. Since
surgical implants are irreversible and rather expensive, this
option is usually offered only when other treatments are unacceptable.
Information about impotence was provided
by Dr. Jon Pryor, a board certified urologist and associate professor
at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine.
Are there other alternatives?
Yes. The Rejoyn Support Sleeve is
a patented penile support sleeve for men who may not be able
to achieve or maintain a natural erection. While it is not a
treatment or cure, Rejoyn sleeves support a flaccid penis such
that sexual intercourse is possible as often as desired.
Rejoyn is among the least invasive and most accessible alternatives
for men experiencing impotence. It does not require a prescription
and is available in most pharmacies
or you can order directly from us online.
